Prague is a old city, but it also have space for a new modern challenges. For example, Masaryčka - budova. The project is part of the reconstruction of the 19th century Masaryk railway station. A public space was created in front of the building. It was partially located above the railway tracks. From there, they created exits to the platforms, as well as to bus and tram stops. Masarychka's design establishes a dialogue with the ornate historical architecture of Prague's Old Town — known as the 'Golden City of 100 Spires.' The "external ribs" of the western facade contribute to the shading of the sun in summer. Urban gardens were created on the roofs, for the fields of which a special rainwater collection system was assembled.
This pillar of modern architecture in Prague “danced” onto the Rašínovo Embankment in 1996. The project comes from the drawing board of world-renowned architects Vlado Milunić and Frank O. Gehry. Its concept was inspired by the dance skills of the famous film couple – the stone tower symbolizes Fred Astaire and the glass tower, his partner Ginger Rogers. A gallery and a restaurant with a terrace offering a 360° view of Prague can be visited in the Dancing House. Source: Prague City Tourism
